Jennifer Carpenter Bio

Jennifer Leann Carpenter (born December 7th, 1979) is an American actress. She is most well-known for her character Debra Morgan on Showtime's Dexter. In 2009, she won a Saturn Award. Also, she was recognized for playing Rebecca Harris on CBS's Limitless. Carpenter began her role as Erica Shepherd, the main role in The Enemy Within, an NBC drama The Enemy Within, in the year 2019. Carpenter's role in The Exorcism of Emily Rose attracted the most attention. Carpenter won the 2006 MTV Movie Award in "Best Frightened Actress" and was also awarded an Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was also named "Breakout Performer" at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They got married on New Years Eve 2008 in California. Hall and Carpenter announced in December of 2010 that they had filed to divorce after being separated "for several years". They also appeared together at the 66th Golden Globe Awards in January 2009. Carpenter and Seth Avett, musician, were announced as engaged and expecting their first child on February 10, 2015. Carpenter was eight and a half months pregnant when she appeared on Limitless the pilot episode. Carpenter and Avett married in May 2016.
