Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991, is an English actress. She is also a director, model activist as well as an actress. Wright is best known for her part in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The actress remained in the role for ten years prior to her move to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). Wright was seen in several independent films after the Harry Potter series. These films were moderately rated. In 2013 she made her performance debut on stage in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also obtained a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. The following year, she founded her own production firm, BonBonLumiere, and began producing short films. Her first project as a director was the coming-of age drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) with David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical applause. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films featured emotions and landscapes as the main themes. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa’s Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for singers Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson. Wright has been recognized for her environmental activism. she also serves as an ambassador for two charities: Greenpeace as well as Lumos.
