Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. Her career began as a professional at age four by performing voice overs and commercial work. The first film she made was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she was "Rain Wolfe" who was a kid found in a park, who was fostered and raised by Josie. Sarah would later work with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) many more times: Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt’s The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The next year, she was featured on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), which starred Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Gould's Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Sarah has studied jazz, voice tap, hip hop, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed with her tap class and Theatre class at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Sarah was home-schooled by her mother up to 2nd grade and then attended Public School. In 6th grade she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) where she stayed until her graduation in 2008. Sarah was just 18 when she relocated to Los Angeles. She landed a pilot called "My American Family" within two weeks. After being picked up, the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). To date, Sarah portrays "Haley Dunphy", the eldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
