Milena Govich
Milena Govich, a writer as well as an
actor and musician has directed many episodes of TV including Chicago Med
(2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as
well as other. She was also the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS
series FBI (2018), and she is slated to direct two pilots in the process of
development. Milena was one of eight women chosen by AFI for their most
prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also took part in the Sony
Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. The short film she made and the
TV series proof-of-concept called Unspeakable with Laura Vandervoort and Jeff
Kober The film had its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded Best Episodic at
Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at SoHo International Film
Festival. The short film she made, Temporary (2017) has been screened across
the United States, winning the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival,
Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest, and the Director's Choice Award at
Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has been featured in
more than 100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in
CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three
seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was which was a
Dick Wolf series, was her second leading role. This led to her being named the
Emmy-winning female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007)
(Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and
Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has been in numerous
films, including Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring
alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) with the lead opposite Method
Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). A native of Norman, Oklahoma,
Milena was valedictorian in her high school, and then enrolled in two majors in
singing and pre-med, with minors in dance and violin at the University of
Central Oklahoma, and also being valedictorian of her graduation. She used her
classical ballet training soon after to stage her Broadway debut in the Sam
Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
