Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress. Her awards include an
Empire Award, and receiving nominations for an Critics'' Choice Award, two
Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer was born in Reading,
Berkshire. She made her name as Anne Boleyn. A role she played on the Showtime
series The Tudors (2008), that earned her acclaim. In Sweet Nothings (2010),
she made her stage debut. She she also played the Duchess of York in Madonna's
W.E. (2011), Private Lorraine in Captain America The First Avenger (2011). The
Young Vic praised her performance in After Miss Julie (2012). Dormer received
international praise and recognition for her performances as Margaery Tyrell
(2012-2016 on HBO) and Cressida (2014-2015 on The Hunger Games), that are among
her most watched films. Dormer also voiced the character of Onica in The Dark
Crystal: Age of Resistance (2018), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016),
as well as Irene Adler/Moriarty from the CBS series Elementary (2013)-15. Her
role as Penny Dreadful: City of Angels in a miniseries on Penny Dreadful, was
highly praised. Dormer was born on the 11th of February 1982 in Reading,
Berkshire (England), as the daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards.
She is also the sibling of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
